JAKARTA. PT Eagle Indo Pharma, the manufacturer of Cap Lang healthcare products, donated 9,936 bottles of hand sanitizer to people affected by the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) in Indonesia.

The donation was given through the Yayasan Cap Lang Peduli and supported by PT Harumi Indonesia, a distributor of Cap Lang products.

According to Yusron Izha Mahendra, Chairperson of Yayasan Cap Lang, the hand sanitizer products would be exported at first. However, because his party saw that the demand in Indonesia was quite high, the hand sanitizer was given for domestic use.

"We came to BKPM to ask for help with licensing and finally the problem was resolved. We can finally supply the market and also make donations to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and BKPM (Investment Coordinating Board), " Mahendra said through an official statement.

Meanwhile, Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of BKPM, stated that the Indonesian government will continue to provide licensing to accelerate the provision of facilities and medical equipment needs. In addition, Lahadalia said that his party continues to encourage a number of producers to spur the production of medical devices to avoid scarcity. (KR/AR)
