JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Mandiri is preparing a digital zakat payment feature in its mobile app MSM (Mandiri Syariah Mobile), which can be used by customers to pay zakat and other alms without having to leave their homes during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“MSM facilitates the public to pay zakat without having to worry about the virus outside their homes. We can fulfill this obligation earlier so that the funds can be used by those in need quicker,” said Mandiri Syariah Digital Banking Sales & Partnership Group Head Riko Wardhana in an official statement, Saturday (16/5).
With a Mandiri Syariah savings account, customers can carry out numerous banking transactions online through the MSM app. In addition, the app also enables customers to open an account online.
As of April 2020, the MSM app has over 1.1 million users. According to Mr Wardhana, the app’s growth reflects the company’s commitment to digital transformation. (MS)
