JAKARTA - Agritech startup Kedai Sayur has launched business-to-consumer (B2C) services as a response to shifting demand from the business-to-business (B2B) segment due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to Kedai Sayur CEO Adrian Hernanto, the significant growth of the B2C market is apparent from the Kedaisayur’s app increasing downloads both on the App Store and Google Play as well as the startup’s social media traffic. In addition, it has also launched new sales channels in the form of official stores on e-commerce platforms Tokopedia and Blibli.com.

“The new channels and app are expected to provide an alternative for people to buy food during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr Hernanto said in a press release received by IDNFinancials.com, Thursday (28/5).

In addition to B2B and B2C services, he added, Kedai Sayur also relies on its Mitra Sayur service which involves vegetable sellers and kiosk owners as distribution partners. Currently the startup has two distribution centres in Setu, East Jakarta and Cipondoh, Tangerang with over 30 vendors consisting of farmers, central markets, and local markets. (MS)
