JAKARTA - BNI Syariah scored a net profit of Rp214.01 billion in the first quarter of 2020, up 58% compared to the same period in 2019 of Rp 135.35 billion. BNI Syariah's profit increase in the first quarter of 2020 was driven by a balanced financing portfolio, an optimal increase in deposits with a high CASA composition.
BNI Syariah's President Director, Abdullah Firman Wibowo, said that the increase in capital and performance at the end of the first quarter of 2020 made BNI Syariah was upgraded to BUKU 3 or have a core capital of more than Rp 5 trillion.
In the first quarter of 2020, the Bank has channeled funding amounting to Rp 32.33 trillion, up 9.80% from the same position in 2019 of Rp 29.44 trillion. The largest financing composition was contributed by the consumer segment amounting to Rp 15.71 trillion (48.6%); commercial segment of Rp 8.01 trillion (24.78%); small and medium segment of Rp 6.69 trillion (20.68%).
For information, the number of accounts has also increased from the first quarter of 2019 by 3.15 million to 3.53 million in the first quarter of 2020. The strategies implemented include collaborating with institutions, universities, schools and pesantren, and the community. (LM)
