JAKARTA - PT Air Asia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) plans to resume operations gradually starting from 8 June 2020. Previously, the company wanted to resume operations on 1 June 2020.

As quoted from the company's disclosure published on Wednesday (3/6), Indah Permatasari Saugi, Corporate Secretary of PT Air Asia Indonesia Tbk (CMPP) said the company chose to postpone its plan due to operational reasons and the extension of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in a number of regions. "In addition, the strict regulations for flight services has caused demand for scheduled flight services to decline," she said.

According to her, the company will start with certain routes on 8 June. Prospective passengers who have been affected by the postponement, she said, have received cancellation notices along with information on compensation options through short messages and electronic mail.

She also stated that the COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on the company's financial condition, especially cash flow. In the first quarter of 2020, the company's revenue and profit are expected to decline by around 50% and 75% respectively. (LK/AR)
