JAKARTA - The government is preparing a circular as a guide for the food and beverage (F&B) industry to run their businesses during the "New Normal". With this guide, the F&B industry is expected to grow by 4% by the end of the year.
In a press release published on Wednesday (3/6), Director General of Agro-based Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Abdul Rochim stated that the circular letter is made to accommodate the Minister of Health's circular regarding the COVID-19 prevention protocol in offices and workplaces. "During the coordination, domestic F&B industry players expressed their readiness to operate in the "New Normal" era, while still observing health protocols. However, to support this sector, it is necessary to ensure the availability of raw materials and the flow of logistics," he said.
According to him, the key to recovering the food and beverage industry sector lies with retail traders. If shopping centers start to operate, demand will soon return to the level before the pandemic. (LK/AR)
