LPS will pay the deposits of the customers of BPRS Gotong Royong

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) will pay the claims for deposits made by the customers of BPRS Gotong Royong, Subang, West Java after the Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked the bank's business license on Thursday (5/6).

Muhamad Yusron, Secretary of LPS said that his party would conduct reconciliation and verification of deposit data and other information to determine the total amount of deposits to be paid to customers. "The reconciliation and verification will be completed by LPS no later than 90 working days from the date of revocation of the business license, or 13 October 2020," he said in a press release on Thursday (5/6).

He further stated that the payment will be done in stages. LPS will also take over all the rights and authority of shareholders. 

"To reduce direct contact during the COVID-19 pandemic, LPS did not put any announcements at the office of PT BPRS Gotong Royong. Customers can see the status of their savings through the LPS website after LPS announced the payment process," he said. (LK/AR)
