PT KAI extends the ticket refund period

11 June 2020 11:46

JAKARTA. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) will provide refunds for train tickets with the date of departure of up to 17 June 2020. Previously, the tickets that can be refunded were ones with the date of departure of up to 4 June 2020.

Joni Martinus, VP of Public Relations of PT KAI, said that the refund period is extended because regular long-distance trains cannot operate. "The cancellation of regular long-distance trains to date is a form of KAI's support to the government in preventing the spread of COVID-19," Martinus explained in a press release.

Passengers can cancel their tickets at all station counters or through the KAI Access app. Martinus appealed for passengers to cancel their tickets through KAI Access, since passengers do not need to leave their houses.

As of 4 June 2020 yesterday, KAI recorded that there were 863,373 tickets that had been canceled. (KR/AR)
