JAKARTA - The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) has not found sufficient evidence of unfair business competition practices related to the COVID-19 rapid test service. This was conveyed by KPPU after conducting a case study since 13 April 2020 in response to public complaints regarding the COVID-19 rapid test service packages.

As quoted from a press release on Friday (12/6), Guntur Saragih, a member of KPPU said that the KPPU had completed an investigation into the alleged  tie-in sales with the COVID-19 rapid tests in various hospitals.

"KPPU has summoned and questioned representatives of various hospitals suspected of conducting tie-in sales for rapid tests, getting statements from experts, and conducting field surveys in Jabodetabek and cities where there are KPPU offices, namely Medan, Lampung, Surabaya, Balikpapan, and Makassar, "he said.

According to him, business people have made changes in terms of selling rapid test services to the public. The rapid test package can be purchased without several other health services. (LK/AR)
