JAKARTA. Indonesia announced the finalization of a cooperation program in the field of electricity and renewable energy with the International Energy Agency (IEA), to attract more private investment in the renewable energy sector.
Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), said that so far, IEA has given a strong impetus to the renewable energy program at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. "I look forward to working together on this because we aim to continue the transition to clean energy," Tasrif said through an official statement.
Cooperation between Indonesia and the IEA has begun through the Joint Work Program at a ministerial meeting in December 2019. This cooperation is not only in the electricity sector, but also in fuel and technology for renewable energy.
In realizing this cooperation program, Indonesia involved PT PLN (Persero). (KR/AR)
