JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry is aggressively spurring the national small and medium industry (IKM) sector for digital transformation so that it can be more competitive to the global market. This strategic effort is consistent with the priority program on the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map.

"One of our concrete proofs that encouraging the IKM sector to implement industry 4.0 is by assisting a pilot project with PT. Sinar Mulia Teknalum as the metal IKM, "said Director General of Small, Medium and Various Industries (IKMA) Gati WIbawaningsih in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/7).

Director General of IKMA explained the use of industry 4.0 in PT. Sinar Mulia Teknalum is implemented through the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. "Implementation of this system will facilitate the planning and management of company resources and integrate all divisions within the company."

In addition, ERP systems make it possible for companies to make production planning more easily, obtain information on the efficiency of the production process, evaluate machine capacity, and workforce effectiveness in the field.

Furthermore, ERP applications can be one of the solutions for businesses because of the benefits, including providing information with fast response times, increasing interaction between parts of an organization, and improving the management of the order cycle of goods. (LM)
