JAKARTA - The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment is pushing for the Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) to simplify and speed up the process of the inclusion of the 'Bangga Buatan Indonesia' (BBI) logo on domestic pharmaceutical products.
According to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut B Pandjaitan, the inclusion of the BBI logo will support the development of pharmaceutical MSMEs because BPOM has an international reputation. "Of course, BPOM cannot just give out the logo. It has to decide is the product is good enough in terms of quality, safety, and so on. It is very important to push BPOM to support our MSMEs. So we all must collaborate," he said as quoted from a press release published on Wednesday (8/7).
Luhut said that the process should be shortened from seven days to two or three days.
So far, 800 thousand companies have registered online to get the BBI logo.. (LK/AR)
