JAKARTA. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) reported that it had spent Rp 47.25 billion of its buyback budget, far below the target set in mid-March of Rp 3 trillion.

Amam Sukriyanto, Corporate Secretary of BBRI, said the buyback was carried out in stages starting from 13 March to 12 June. "The total number of shares purchased was 16.4 million shares," Sukriyanto said through information disclosure published today.

Sukriyanto added, the average price of shares bought back by BBRI was Rp 2,281.34 per share. Despite the fact that the bank still holds most of its buyback budget, the state-owned bank will not conduct any more buyback. "We report that the buyback has been completed," said Sukriyanto.

BBRI uses its internal cash for the buyback. All shares purchased will be kept as treasury stock. (KR/AR)
