JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Tourism Development (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), is focused on completing the construction of the Mandalika Street Circuit for the Indonesian MotoGP event which is planned to take place at the end of 2021.
To accelerate the completion of the construction, yesterday (15/7) ITDC signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the construction of the Mandalika Circuit with PT PP (Persero) Tbk / PT PP worth Rp900 billion. ITDC also signed a Banking Syndication Termsheet that involved HIMBARA members, namely Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, and BTN to support the development of Circuits.
Deputy Minister of BUMN II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said, "The successful implementation of the MotoGP 2021 is very important for Indonesia, so we will ensure the construction of the Mandalika circuit is carried out according to schedule and meets international standards. The collaboration between ITDC, PP and Himbara is a solid commitment from SOEs to support Indonesia's readiness to host the 2021 MotoGP event. The Mandalika Circuit is unique because it will go along a beautiful seashore, so it is expected to be an attraction to encourage the Indonesian tourism industry."
Through collaboration between SOEs, the development will be carried out using the PreFinanced Project scheme in the context of developing the Mandalika Circuit area on an area of 52.5 hectares within The Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination, NTB.
At present the progress of initial work, including preparatory work and ground work, the Mandalika circuit construction project has reached 40% and the asphalting process is scheduled to begin in January 2021. Overall, the Mandalika Circuit construction is targeted to be completed by mid 2021. (LM)
