Tiu Suntuk Dam targeted for completion in December 2023

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in 2020 has started the construction of Tiu Suntuk Dam in West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.

The Tiu Suntuk Dam is implemented by the Nusa Tenggara I River Basin Center (BWS), the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of PUPR with a pool area of ​​337 hectares. This dam will supply water for an irrigation area of ​​1,743 hectares covering the area of ​​Taliwang and Brang Ene Subdistricts in West Sumbawa Regency.

The Tiu Suntuk Dam contract is divided into two work packages. Package I has started construction since January 23, 2020 with PT Nindya Karya and PT Bahagia Bangun Nusa (KSO) as contractors. Meanwhile, package II is in the auction stage and is waiting for the determination of the auction winner.

For package I, the work includes preparation, evasion work, main dam, take-up building, hydromechanical and electrical works and other facility construction works. Until the end of July 2020, the overall construction progress reached 7%.

The construction cost for Tiu Suntuk Dam is Rp 1.41 trillion with an implementation period of 1,415 calendar days and is targeted for completion in December 2023. (LM)
