Prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari named as suspect in Djoko Tjandra bribery case

JAKARTA - The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has named prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari as a suspect in an alleged bribery case related to Bank Bali corruption convict Djoko Tjandra.

This was confirmed by the AGO’s Head of Legal Information Hari Setiyono to CNN Indonesia on Wednesday (12/8). Ms Malasari is currently detained at Salemba Penitentiary, Central Jakarta.

Prior to being named as a suspect, Ms Malasari was dismissed from her post as Head of the 2nd Monitoring and Evaluation Subdivision to the Junior Attorney General’s Planning Bureau at the AGO’s Development Division.

She was found to have met Tjandra in Malaysia in 2019, while the latter had been a fugitive for 10 years. In addition, she also travelled overseas without a written permit on nine occasions. (MS)
