JAKARTA. The revenue of PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) rose by 10% (YoY) in the first half of 2020 to Rp 12.13 trillion, mainly due to the 15% growth in data service revenue.
President Director & CEO of XL Axiata Dian Siswarini said that the growth in revenue was the effect of the increasing demand for internet access to support work and study activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Data usage traffic increased, especially at the beginning of the pandemic. Then, it slumped a bit because people's purchasing power weakened as economic conditions deteriorated due to the impact of the pandemic," said Dian in a written statement, Thursday (27/8).
XL Axiata's data traffic in semester 1 of 2020 increased by 45% YoY, from 1,531 Petabytes to 2,221 Petabytes. (AM/AR)
