JAKARTA - Erick Thohir, Chief Executive of COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee urges all people to remain optimistic that Indonesia can escape the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. He stated this at the HSBC Economic Forum in Jakarta on Wednesday (16/9).
According to Erick, who is also the Minister of SOEs, Indonesia managed to reduce COVID-19 fatality rate from 8% in April 2020 to 3.99%. If all parites continue to work hard, he said, the fatality rate would be even lower.
He explained that Indonesia also experienced better economic trend than some G20 members such as India, France and Britain.
Erick added that Indonesia's condition is still better than Singapore and Malaysia. (LK/AR)
