JAKARTA. The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) and PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia have signed the Head of Agreement (HoA) for the Transition of Rokan Work Area today (29/9).
Accordng to the HoA, Chevron still has the right to conduct drilling in the Rokan block until August 2021. After that, production activities in this area will be taken over by PT Pertamina (Persero).
Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), said that the HoA signing will help Indonesia maintain its long-term oil and gas production. "We will continue to monitor the implementation periodically to ensure the commitment of all parties goes according to the agreement," said Tasrif in a press release today.
Meanwhile Dwi Soetjipto, Head of SKK Migas, said the move was made to optimize the production of the Rokan block during the transition period. (KR/AR)
