JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is encouraging the expansion of the QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) payment system to the MSME sector. As of 18 September 2020, this digital payment system has been used by 4.5 million businesses Indonesia.
Perry Warjiyo, Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) said that the digital payment system would help improve transaction security. "As many as 85% of the 4.5 million businesses who use QRIS are SMEs," he said on Monday (28/9).
According to him, BI and the financial services industry will continue to make innovations to make QRIS more accepted by the public.(LK/AR)
