Tower Bersama confident performance will remain stable

JAKARTA. PT Tower Bersama Infrastruktur Tbk's (TBG) remains confident that its performance will remain stable despite the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

According to Tower Bersama CFO Helmy Yusman Santoso, the telecommunication tower industry is one of the most defensive sectors during the pandemic due to its reliance on payments from long-term rent contracts.

Contracts, Mr Santoso said, are usually valid for 10 years with on-time payments from telco operators. "In addition, the new contracts we have obtained during the pandemic are adequate," he said at a public expose this week.

To maintain operational growth, Mr Santoso said the company focuses more on organic growth instead of acquisition due to the latter's need to consider matters including asset locations, future prospects, and valuations.

Currently, Tower Bersama has 15,000 sites across Indonesia. To make an acquisition, the company needs to consider how many towers a site has and its future prospect. (AM/MS)
