JAKARTA. Bank BCA and BCA Finance officially acquired all shares of Bank Interim for Rp642.65 billion. The corporate action is expected to strengthen the financial position of its subsidiary, BCA Syariah.

With this acquisition, Bank BCA now controls 99.999973% of Bank Interim shares, while BCA Finance owns 0.000027% of them.

Director of Bank BCA Vera Eve Lim said that the corporate action was done to support the consolidation of the Indonesian banking sector. According to the plan, Bank Interim, which was previously known as Rabobank Indonesia, will be merged with BCA Syariah.

"After the merger, BCA Syariah will become the surviving entity," said Vera in a press release on Tuesday (29/9). After the merger, BCA Syariah's capital is estimated to reach Rp2 trillion. (AM/AR)
