Facebook budgets Rp 12.5 billion aid for Indonesian SMEs

JAKARTA - Facebook has prepared a Rp 12.5 billion aid and a series of virtual training programsmeaimed at Indonesian SMEs.

According to Facebook Indonesia Country Director Pieter Lydian, the aid aims to help Indonesian SMEs restore their businesses amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“We listen to the challenges faced by SMEs and we want to provide helpful support—including financial support—to help them rise, rearrange their strategies, and restore their businesses,” Mr Lydian said in an official statement as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (7/10).

Registration from the programme is open from 6 October to 13 October 2020. SMEs interested to join the programme are required to have two to 50 employees, have been running for more than one year, and have evidence of facing difficulties during the pandemic.

In selecting the SMEs, Facebook Indonesia is partnering consulting services provider PT Deloitte Konsultan Indonesia and corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform Goodera. (MS)
