Hendrisman Rahim is sentenced to life due to his part in Jiwasraya case

JAKARTA - Hendrisman Rahim, former president director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero), was sentenced to life by the Jakarta Corruption Court due to his part in the Rp16.8 trillion Jiwasraya corruption case. The verdict was read out by Susanti, Chairman of the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Court, yesterday (12/10).

Apart from him, the judge also sentenced Hary Prasetyo, former finance director of Jiwasraya and Syahmirwan, former head of Jiwasraya's Investment and Finance Division.

Hendrisman served as director of Jiwasraya from 2008 to 2018. Prior to taking that position, he was the president director of PT Reasuransi Internasional Indonesia (Reindo), while also served as General Chair of the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) from 2011-2014.

The judge found that three former Jiwasraya officials, along with otber defendants (Heru Hidayat, Benny Tjokrosaputro, and Joko Hartono Tirto) were not transparent and accountable in managing the investment and mutual funds of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya. (LK/AR)
