JAKARTA - The Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) of the Ministry of Trade blocked 914 domains of illegal commodity futures companies during the period of January-September 2020. This was stated by Sidharta Utama, Head of Bappebti, Ministry of Trade as quoted on Friday (16/10).
Head of Bappebti, Sidharta Utama, said than in September 2020, he said, his party had blocked 137 illegal domains (41 Facebook pages and 96 websites). "Currently, there are websites that use fake legality as if they were recognized by Bappebti, OJK, and government agencies," he said.
He said that his party worked together with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the domain provider company. Bappebti, he said, had received a number of complaints about fake licenses from futures brokers, futures exchanges, and others.
"Bappebti will work together with the police to take firm action against the perpetrators to provide a deterrent effect," he said. (LK/AR)
