Garuda is optimistic that its performance will recover with government subsidies

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) is optimistic that its performance will recover with subsidies for air passenger services (PJP2U) and the elimination of airport tax on ticket rates. This was conveyed by  (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) in a written statement, yesterday (22/10).

Irfaniaputra, President Director of Garuda Indonesia, said that the subsidiaries would increase public interest in domestic flight services. Garuda, he said, will implement this policy at 10 airports in Indonesia.

The ten airports include Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), Hang Nadim Airport (BTH), Kualanamu Airport (KNO), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS), Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP), Lombok Praya International Airport (LOP), Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport (SRG), Sam Ratulangi Airport (MDC), Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport (LBJ), Silangit Airport (DTB), Banyuwangi Airport (BWX), and Adi Sucipto Airport (JOG) .

He explained that the policy released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation took effect from 23 October to 31 December 2020. His party has also confirmed the readiness of supporting infrastructure for the adjustment of ticket rates. (LK/AR)
