Benny Tjokro is obliged to pay Rp6.67 trillion to the state

JAKARTA - Benny Tjokrosaputro, former president director of PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX) is obliged to pay Rp6.07 trillion to the state due to his involvement in PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) corruption case. The verdict is an additional sentence against Benny Tjokro who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

Rosmina, Chairman of the Panel of Judges at the Anti-Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court said during the reading of the sentence that Benny Tjokrosaputro is obliged to pay with a legally binding legal decision (incraht). "To sentence the defendant with an additional penalty in the form of paying replacement money to the state in the amount of Rp. 6,078,500,000,000 on the condition that if within a month after the court decision has permanent legal force, the defendant does not pay the replacement money, his property will be confiscated and auctioned off to cover the replacement money, "said Rosmina.

The panel of judges conveyed that the defendant committed corruption in a well-organized manner so that it was difficult to find. "The defendant used a large number of other parties' hands to become nominees, even used fake ID cards to become nominees and used companies that had no activities to accommodate his business," said Rosmina.
