JAKARTA - PT Emdeki Utama Tbk (MDKI) has postponed the development of its carbide desulphuriser plant in Cilegon, Banten and its ferrosilicon factory in Gresik, East Java due to the current pandemic.
Happy Hapsoro, Corporate Secretary of EMDKI, stated in a press release on Thursday (26/11), that the continuation of both facilities will have to wait for the development of the steel plant in Cilegon.
Meanwhile, the first phase of the development of the carbide desulphuriser plant phase I was completed in September 2019.
According to him, the decision to postpone the development was made due to the uncertain condition caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. (LK/AR)
