JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia's (BI) Board of Governors Meeting on 16-17 December 2020 decided to maintain the benchmark interest rate or BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate at 3.75%.

In addition, BI also maintained the Deposit Facility rate at 3.00% and the Lending Facility rate at 4.50%.

"This decision is consistent with the low inflation forecast and maintained external stability, as well as efforts to support economic recovery," BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said in a video conference broadcast on BI's official YouTube channel, Thursday (17/12).

Additionally, Mr Warjiyo added, BI also strengthened policy synergies and supported various advanced policies to build optimism for national economic recovery, including through opening up productive and COVID-19-safe economic sectors, accelerating fiscal stimulus, and channeling bank loans in terms of supply and demand.

"Going forward, Bank Indonesia will continue to direct all policy instruments to support national economic recovery, while maintaining control of inflation and maintaining stability in the rupiah exchange rate, as well as supporting financial system stability," said Mr Warjiyo. (MS)
