BPS recorded non-oil and gas exports of US$ 16.54 billion

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded exports in December 2020 of US$ 16.54 billion, increased 8.39% compared to November 2020 of US$ 15.26 billion. Meanwhile, the import value by December 2020 reached US $14.44 billion, increased 14% compared to the previous month of US$ 14.51 billion.

From the BPS press release published on Friday (15/1), non-oil and gas exports contributed 93.84% of the total exports in December. The largest contributors were industry 78.10%, mining 13.13%, and agriculture 2.61%. Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector only contributed 6.16% of total exports.

The largest increase in Indonesia's non-oil exports to the United States was US$ 265.9 million, India US$ 254.6 million, the Netherlands US $ 100.2 million, South Korea US$ 82.2 million and Japan US$ 63.3 million . In contrast, the decline occurred in Brazil at US$ 14.2 million, Kenya US$ 14.6 million, Thailand US$ 29.7 million, Australia US$ 31.1 million, and Germany US$ 32,4 million.

According to BPS, the largest market share of non-oil and gas export was in China with 21.39%, followed by the United States 12.06%, Japan 8.06%. In terms of the region, the market share of non-oil and gas export in ASEAN was 20.12% and the European Union 8.19%. (LK/VA)
