JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is building the Parapat Wastewater Management Installation (IPAL) pipeline network which will be connected in two areas, namely Parapat, Simalungun Regency and Ajibata, Toba Regency.

"Infrastructure development at each Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) is planned in an integrated manner, including the arrangement of the area, roads, supply of raw water and clean water, waste management, sanitation, and improvement of residents' housing through a master plan for infrastructure development," said Minister Basuki some time ago.

The construction of the Parapat IPAL network has been carried out by the North Sumatra Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) since September 2, 2020 and is planned to be completed on September 2, 2021 with a budget of IDR 59.42 billion through the 2020 National Budget (APBN). Currently, the progress has reached 15%. The Parapat IPAL network project work is carried out by the PT. Hotomo Mandala Perkasa as contractor.

It is expected that the construction of the IPAL network will make domestic wastewater from households and hotels will no longer pollute Lake Toba. The Wastewater Pipeline Network Project is divided into two packages. The first package is the construction of a Wastewater Pipeline for a tourist area and rehabilitation of the construction of a reservoir in Ajibata, Toba Regency. (LM)
