JAKARTA. PT Jasamarga Balikpapan-Samarinda (JBS) announced that the construction progress for the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road for sections 1 and 5 had reached 99.93% of the target.
S.T.H. Saragi, President Director of JBS, said he was optimistic that the two sections could operate in mid-2021. "For section 1, it is targeted at the end of the second quarter of 2021, while section 5 is at the beginning of the third quarter of 2021," said Saragi in a press release received by idnfinancials.com.
Saragi also explained that the land acquisition for the two toll road sections with a total length of 33.12 kilometers had reached 99.97%. The two sections will complement the 3 sections that have been operating in December 2019.
Overall, the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road has a total length of 97.99 kilometers. This toll road is divided into five sections, namely Sepinggan-Balikpapan (section 5), Balikpapan-Samboja (section 1), Samboja-Muara Jawa (section 2), Muara Jawa-Palaran (section 3), and Palaran-Samarinda (section 4).
