JAKARTA - PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU) has allocated an investment of IDR 1.5 trillion this year to boost broiler production. This was conveyed by Ali Mas’adi, President Director of PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU) in a press release quoted on Tuesday (2/2).

He conveyed that the broiler production capacity will be increased to 6.4 million broilers and slaughterhouse capacity to 25,500 per hour. "In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are optimistic with the sales target that will grow rapidly this year," he said.

In addition, WMUU management is also focusing on increasing chicken production this year. In the first semester of 2020, WMMU produced 16,000 tons of chicken, a growth of 22% compared to the same period in 2019.

He said that chicken sales will increase this year because the national demand for meat protein continues to increase. "We plan to issue debt securities to support business expansion plans," he said. (LK/LM)
