JAKARTA - Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi, is optimistic that Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports this year can grow by 6.3% due to a number of factors.

The first factor, is due to increased demand in several industries, including furniture delivery to the United States, and demand for footwear due to the general preference tariff (GSP) facility.

Lutfi also mentioned a positive performance for the steel industry, due to competitive prices due to the abundant availability of nickel in the country. In fact, last year's export-oriented industries had a negative performance, due to the limitation, resulting in a decline in production.

"I am sure RI's non-oil and gas exports this year can grow up to 6.3%," said Lutfi as quoted by Bisnis.com, Tuesday (2/2/2021).

The Ministry of Trade in its report, titled Indonesian Trade Outlook 2021, marked a number of products experiencing growth, including steel (+46.84% yoy), jewelry (+24.21% yoy), CPO (+17.5% yoy) , furniture (+11.64% yoy), and footwear (+8,975% yoy). (AM/VA)
