Health budget allocation is estimated to increase almost 50% in 2021

JAKARTA - The unpredictable condition of Covid-19 pandemic requires a larger budget allocation. Hence, the 2021’s health budget is estimated to increase by almost 50% to IDR 254 trillion.

Director General of Budgeting at Ministry of Finance, Askolani, said that 2021’s health budget would increase by 49.67%, from the stipulated budget in the Law about State Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2021, amounting to IDR 169.7 trillion.

"The figure is not final yet," said Askolani in a press conference, Thursday (4/2). For this reason, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health keep coordinating to determine detailed budget allocations to handle Covid-19 Pandemic.

Askolani explained that the entire budget came from the 2021 State Budget. The use of this budget, said Askolani, including providing incentives and health benefits for health workers, health workers and public vaccination, patient care, medicines, isolation costs, tracking, testing and treatment (3T) costs, as well as the procurement of medical devices.
