Bank Mega records more than 50% growth in net profit

JAKARTA. PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) posted a fantastic net profit amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which soared up to 50.2% to IDR 3 trillion.

The increase in net profit was driven by an increase in net interest income of IDR 3.91 trillion, or an increase of 9.2% from the previous year of IDR 3.58 trillion.

This positive performance was also driven by the growth of Third Party Funds (DPK), which grew by 8.79% to IDR 79.18 trillion from IDR 72.79 trillion previously.

However, lending grew at minus 8.54% to IDR 48.48 trillion compared to the previous year's Rp 53.01 trillion. The ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) grossly fell to 1.39% from last year's 2.46%.

Then, the pension savings bank recorded a capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of 31.04%, a loan to deposit ratio (LDR) of 60.04%, and assets increased to IDR 112.20 trillion from IDR 100.80 trillion previously, with details of liabilities as much as IDR 94.99 trillion and equity at IDR 18.20 trillion.
