JAKARTA - Kredivo, a digital credit platform for leading retail consumers in Indonesia, continues to take part in helping the government deal with COVID-19. Kredivo collaborates with Genomics Solidaritas Indonesia (GSI Lab) to expand and accelerate the COVID-19 test.

As a concrete step of this initiative, Kredivo donated US$ 100,000 to GSI Lab, which was then allocated to more than 2 thousand PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests that would be provided free of charge to people in need. GSI Lab itself is a social entrepreneurship and a pioneer in the #SwabAndSaveIndonesia solidarity action to support the government and society in accelerating the handling of COVID-19 through a fast and accurate PCR test.

This collaboration is expected to help speed up tracing in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). Moreover, considering that the testing rate for COVID-19 in Indonesia has not been maximal compared to the minimum standard of testing from WHO, which is 1 test per 1,000 population every week.

Lily Suriani, General Manager of Kredivo Indonesia, said, “From the start, Kredivo has been committed to continue helping the community in fulfilling access to credit services in a faster, easier, and safer manner in the midst of a pandemic. Now, as a form of our concrete steps in supporting the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia, Kredivo is collaborating with GSI Lab to expand and accelerate the COVID-19 test, considering that the pandemic is still a national disaster with the highest priority. We hope that our collaboration with GSI Lab will be able to provide access to PCR tests to more people, especially those who are vulnerable but still have limitations in accessing PCR tests.”

More than 2 thousand PCR tests donated by Kredivo will be allocated directly to the community and the government through the COVID-19 Handling Task Force (BNPB). Kredivo and GSI Lab hope that in the future this collaboration will continue for a healthy and strong Indonesia, and can be a driving force for other entities to jointly handle COVID-19 so that the pandemic will quickly pass and the economy can return to its original state.
