01 March 2021 06:23

JAKARTA. PT Astra Graphia Tbk (ASGR) has prepared a capital expenditure (capex) of IDR 176 billion, most of which will be used for the core business needs of document solutions (equipment for leasing Fuji Xerox devices) and the rest for the company's internal needs.

Melinda Pudjo, Chief of Corporate Secretary and Communications ASGR, explained that the company estimates the IT industry will improve this year, so that spending will increase. "Especially the government initiative in encouraging digital transformation," he said as quoted by Kontan.co.id last week.

According to Melinda, digital printing and packaging are still important sectors in the printing industry, through the growth of MSMEs and the creative industry. These industries are starting to recover compared to the beginning of the pandemic, so that it will have a positive effect on the opportunities that Astragraphia can take advantage of.

Throughout 2020, ASGR's performance was hit by the impact of the pandemic so that the profit attributable to the owners of the parent company fell 80.96% to only IDR 47.78 billion. This is in line with the decline in revenue by 30% to IDR 3.34 trillion.

In the midst of the pandemic's challenges, Astragraphia launched several strategies in order to optimize business performance this year, namely strengthening business fundamentals and strengthening markets, strengthening human resource competence, optimizing technology in internal & external processes and carrying out operational excellence in all lines and functions, he said. Melinda added. (AM/LM)
