Bank BTN potential NPL from Covid-19 restructuring is around 6%

JAKARTA. PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BBTN) estimates that the potential for non-performing loans (NPL) in the first quarter of 2021 from the Covid-19 restructuring program is around 6%.

Director of Collection & Asset Management of Bank BTN Elizabeth Novi said that the credit estimate with the potential for NPL has not changed from the projection in the previous assessment. "In the second quarter, we will have another assessment to see the progress," she said as quoted by Kontan.co.id, Monday (22/3).

According to Novi, the trend of the number of debtors with Covid-19 restructuring every month continues to decline. This is in line with the downward trend in the number of debtors that the Covid Restructuring has undertaken in the banking industry today.

As of December 2020, the number of BTN debtors who carried out the Covid-19 restructuring program reached around 330,000 with principal loans reaching IDR 57 trillion. Of that amount, 69% of them came from the consumer segment, especially Home Ownership Loans (KPR). (AM/LM)
