JECC spotted a decline in sales by 46.17%

JAKARTA – Electric and communication cable sales of PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk (JECC) was reported at IDR 1.57 trillion in 2020, decreasing by 46.17% from IDR 2.92 trillion in 2019. This decline was linked to the weakened property and infrastructure development due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Santoso, the President Director of JECC, mentioned that the sales within the domestic market went down to IDR 1.55 trillion from IDR 2.89 trillion, while the exports reduced down to IDR 19.6 billion from IDR 29.33 billion.

The purchase made by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero), which generally exceeded 10%, was also lessened to IDR 784.07 billion from IDR 247.18 billion. The demand from another loyal customer, PT Sinarmonas Industri, also shrunk to IDR 366.59 billion from IDR 559.30 billion. Meanwhile, PT Monaspermata Persada’s demand also decreased down to IDR 186.68 billion from IDR 279.77 billion.

In 2020, the highest sales came from low-voltage copper wires with IDR 802.67 billion, followed by low-voltage aluminium wires with IDR 290.71 billion, medium-voltage cables IDR 143.28 billion, communication cables IDR 236.27 billion, and miscellaneous products IDR 102.04 billion. (LK/ZH)
