Efficiency and synergy programs resulted in 130% SMCB profit increase

JAKARTA. The efficiency and synergy programs carried out by the company significantly contributed to the increase in net profit of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk. (SMCB) or SBI amounted to 129.41% to IDR 156 billion in the first quarter of 2021.

This achievement was in line with the sales volume growth of 10.96% to 3.3 million tonnes from 2.8 million tonnes with the export market increasing significantly by 135.49% to 3.3 million tonnes, while the domestic market increased by 1.72% to 14.8 million tons.

The increase in sales volume resulted in an increase in revenue to IDR 2.56 trillion or an increase of 4.02% from IDR 2.46 trillion. Meanwhile, gross profit edged down by -1.35% to IDR 657 billion. EBITDA experienced a 40.60% increase to Rp561 billion and earnings before interest and income taxes increased 17.90% to IDR 349 billion. This achievement helped SBI record a net profit of IDR 156 billion in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 129.41% compared to the same period last year.

President Director of SBI, Aulia Mulki Oemar, said that the company's operational resilience during difficult times like now is built on the ability to adapt to face various changes so as to achieve the expected growth.

He ensured that his party would continue to focus on presenting innovative products and solutions to adapt to the dynamics of existing market needs. "Even though the vaccination program has started to run, the process of adaptation and discipline to health protocols has never stopped," said Aulia in a press release Tuesday (4/5/2021). (AM/LM)
