BOGOR - PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said he was optimistic that the construction of the Ciawi Dam could be completed soon in July 2021.
"The land acquisition has now been completed so the construction can be completed in the near future," said Minister Basuki while inspecting the location of the Ciawi Dam construction with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Minister of ATR / BPN Sofyan Djalil, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Wednesday (5/5/2021).
Minister Basuki said that another challenge in the construction of the Ciawi Dam apart from land acquisition was the weather, especially the rain, which often occurs throughout most of the year.
The current Ciawi Dam construction progress has reached 71% and land acquisition at 96%. The Ciawi Dam work contract was signed on 23 November 2016 with the implementing contractor PT. Brantas Abipraya and PT. Sacna.
The construction of the Ciawi dam began on December 2, 2016. The Ciawi dam is planned to have a storage volume of 6.05 million m3 and an inundation area of 39.40 hectares with a construction cost of IDR 798.7 billion. (LM)
