JAKARTA - The government continues to boost the productivity and competitiveness of the electronics industry so that it can make a significant contribution to the national economy. Moreover, the electronics industry is one of the sectors that gets development priorities according to the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.

At the end of last week, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita accompanied the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto to review the implementation of Gotong Royong vaccination in Batam, especially in two electronics companies, namely PT Philips Industries Batam (Philips) and PT Sat Nusapersada Tbk. (Satnusa).

"We appreciate the decision of industry players to immediately participate in the Gotong Royong vaccination program. This can encourage workers to work more productively. This effort will accelerate the recovery of the national economy," said the Minister of Industry in Jakarta, Monday (14/6).

During the pandemic, Philips Batam was still able to maintain a relatively stable level of production utilization, when compared to the previous year. A 100% diversified export marketing strategy to various regions and countries is the company's advantage. On the other hand, the company is also trying to enter the domestic market. In terms of production capability, the company has been able to produce its products with local value reaching 40%-70%.

Meanwhile, Satnusa has also continued to strive to develop its industry by producing 5G Smartphones, complementing the 4G lines that have been produced previously. The company's smartphone products are marketed both domestically and for export. Currently, the company's smartphone production capacity has reached 3 million units per month. (LM)
