JAKARTA – PT Matahari Department Store Tk (LPPF) limits the operation of 100 of its stores starting Monday (28/6) following the microscale public activity restriction (PPKM) as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Miranti Hadisusilo, the Corporate Secretary of Matahari Department Store, discloses the action in a press conference, quoted Monday (28/6).

According to Hadisusilo, this operational restriction over 100 stores equals 67% of the entire stores owned by LPPF and represents 71% of the total sales. The location of these stores include Java of 71 stores, Sumatera 19 stores, Kalimantan four stores, and the remaining six are distributed across other regions.

“These stores are affected by the operational working hours limitations that require the shopping centres to close at 18.00. Other stores are affected by the mall visitors limitation and traffic diversion,” Hadisusilo explains further.

Microscale PPKM is effective starting last week (22/6), in which LPPF limits the operation of 74 of its stores. A week later, the company adds the other 26 stores to the list.

As of March 2021, LPPF scores a net profit of IDR 1.16 trillion, dropping from Q1 2020 of IDR 1.54 trillion. Its gross profit also declined from IDR 917.76 billion to IDR 689.42 billion. Lastly, its loss is reported at IDR 95.35 billion, shifting from IDR 93.95 billion in Q1 2020. (LK/ZH)
