Jasa Marga to handle fibre optic backbone business by the end of the year

29 June 2021 07:12

JAKARTA – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) would enter the business field of fibre optic backbone network as soon as year-end. Reza Febriano, the Corporate Secretary of Jasa Marga, announces this plan in the information disclosure, quoted Tuesday (29/6).

According to Febriano, the purpose behind this expansion is to optimise the extensive toll road availability currently owned and managed by Jasa Marga. Establishing the fibre optic backbone network would grant promising business potentials in the future following the rise of online applications, the internet, and other technology.

“[We] currently are organizing a feasibility study within the company. Regarding the plan implementation, it would start on Q4 2021 or early 2022,” Febriano explains.

JSMR would explore this business line through its subsidiary, PT Jasamarga Related Business (JRMB), and expect revenue growth for the company in the future. By entering this business, the company enriches its business portfolio besides managing toll roads and construction. (LK/ZH)
