JAKARTA. PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk disburses a foreign currency loan to PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk (ZINC) of USD 98 million. This loan distribution is a strategic measure by Bank Mandiri to accelerate economic recovery through the mining industry.

Kapuas Prima Coal would channel the majority of the funds, of approximately IDR 1.39 trillion (using IDR 14,500/USD currency), to its working capital and capital expenditure (CapEx). It is linked to the plan of increasing production capacity in the mineral mining sector.

“This support signifies Bank Mandiri’s realisation to become the users’ leading financial partners through various financial products, which are envisioned to support economic recovery in the future,” SVP Corporate Banking of Bank Mandiri, Helmy Afrisa Nugroho, claims in Bank Mandiri conference press on Tuesday (29/6).

Nugroho also states that his company would keep looking for credit potentials in other prospective sectors. They may include Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), palm plantation and CPO, energy, and construction sectors.

ZINC’s Business Development Director, Evelyn Kioe, reveals that a portion of the funds would also be channelled to the smelter facility construction in Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan. (AM/ZH)
