The government insists on its estimated state budget deficits

02 July 2021 16:36

JAKARTA. The Ministry of Finance is set not to change the projected deficits in the State Budget 2021. It would stay at a 5.7% level despite the threatening economic stagnation due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Vice Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara, claims that the state budget is highly flexible because there would be allocations to be diverted and cut off. “Generally, we would see the deficit remains at approximately 5.7%,” Nazara confirms earlier today (2/7).

It would be further and formally discussed during the state budget outlook for the second half of 2021, which would be administered to the House of Representatives (DPR). (AM/ZH)
