AKRA joins forces with Taiwanese companies for Gresik economic zone development

JAKARTA – PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS), the subsidiary of PT AKR Coporindo Tbk (AKRA), partners with three Taiwanese companies to develop Special Economic Zones (lit. Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus/KEK) of Gresik-Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE). The Memorandum of Understanding had been signed on Thursday (8/7).

Haryanto Adikoesoemo, President Director of AKR Corporindo, explains that the MoU signing with Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) aims to promote KEK Gresik-JIIPE. “The purpose of the MoU is to enhance partnership in production and technology in the manufacturing sector and accelerate the realisation of Indonesia’s national strategic projects in JIIPE,” Adikoesoemo adds in a press conference, Thursday (8/7).

Additionally, BKMS also asks participation of Sinotech Engineering Consultants Ltd as the planner, area designer, and manager for companies to establish manufacturing facilities in KEK Gresik-JIIPE. Furthermore, Addimmune Corporation, a biological vaccine manufacturer, plans to purchase land in JIIPE to be turned into a vaccine production facility. (LK/ZH)
