Indofarma to increase Ivermectin production to 13.8 million tablets this month

JAKARTA. PT Indofarma (Persero) Tbk (INAF) plans to boost the production of Ivermectin 12 mg tablet, the medicine believed to treat COVID-19 patients with light symptoms. The production is to be raised to 13.8 million tablets from July to August 2021.

Warjoko Sumedi, Corporate Secretary of INAF, reveals that the company currently has an existing Ivermectin production capacity of 4.5 million tablets per month. “To anticipate the people’s needs, the company would double the capacity, surpassing the current capacity,” Sumedi explains in a press conference received by idnfinancials.com.

The drug’s net price, including the VAT, for Ivermectin tablet 12 mg/bottle set by INAF is IDR 123,200, or IDR 6,160 per tablet. Thus, the highest retail price, including VAT, reaches IDR 157,700 or IDR 7,885 per tablet.

In distributing this medicine, INAF would appoint the major pharmaceutical suppliers that distribute to pharmaceutical facilities. For the time being, INAF’s Ivermectin could be obtained with doctor’s prescription in Kimia Farma pharmacy networks and Halodoc. (KR/ZH)
