Argha Karya sets the sales to reach IDR 2.4 trillion

26 July 2021 15:26

JAKARTA. PT Argha Karya Prima Industry Tbk (AKPI) would take on every measure needed to secure the sales target of IDR 2.4 trillion this year.

Jimmy Tjahjanto, Director of AKPI, claims that the Emergency Community Activities Restriction Enforcement (PPKM) regarding the increasing COVID-19 cases have yet to affect AKPI’s business activities. However, Tjahjanto admits that packaged goods sales in the domestic market tend to decline after Eid al-Fitr, especially in the foods and beverages sector. It is a common cycle happening every year, and it would usually be revived by the end of the year.

Tjahjanto hopes that in Q4 2021, the domestic market would start to reawaken as the usual trend suggests. Thus far, the contribution in AKP’s sales mostly comes from the domestic market of 60% to 65%. Java and Sumatra are the most extensive contributors.

This plastic package manufacturer is now exploring opportunities in the export market. Until recently, AKPI exports its products to Asia and Europe while waiting for the domestic market to recover. “With the stagnant domestic market, the export market still offers some room to grow,” Tjahjanto explains, as quoted by Kontan.co.id recently.
